Dr. José Luis Gonzalez has more than 20 years of experience in obstetrics and gynecology with more than 12 of those years being the practice of maternal fetal medicine. Dr. Gonzalez graduated from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine and completed his obstetrics and gynecology residency at the University Hospital in San Juan, Puerto Rico. | |||||

Prior to pursuing a maternal fetal medicine fellowship at the University of New Mexico, Dr. Gonzalez was an assistant professor of obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine for five years. Post fellowship he continued his career in academic medicine where he attained the academic rank of professor, was obstetrics and gynecology residency program director and associate dean for graduate medical education. |

| Dr. Gonzalez is a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and nationally recognized for his excellence in clinical practice and residents’ education. He has received numerous awards including the APGO/CREOG Teaching Award at the University of Puerto Rico, the University of New Mexico and Texas Tech University. He has been recognized by peers as one of Texas’ best doctors.
