MD, FACOG

C. Trammell Cox, MD, FACOG, is a Board Certified Physician in Obstetrics and Gynecology and is fellowship trained in Maternal-Fetal Medicine. His passions are preeclampsia prediction and prevention, quality and safety improvement, and advancing technology in improving pregnancy outcomes.

Raised in Denver, Colorado, Dr. Cox completed his undergraduate training at BYU, followed by medical school at Virginia Commonwealth University, where he was inducted into the Gold Humanism in Medicine Society. He completed residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Missouri - Kansas City, serving as chief resident. During his time there, his research focused on congenital cardiac disease in pregnancy, effects of COVID-19 in the fetus and newborn, and postpartum preeclampsia.

Fellowship in Maternal Fetal Medicine brought he and his family to New Mexico. During fellowship, he was involved in research in placenta accreta spectrum, cystic hygroma outcomes, and developing a preeclampsia prediction model. He presented several lectures to providers throughout the state through ProjectECHO, as well as critical care case presentations at SMFM. After falling in love with New Mexico, Dr. Cox and his family decided to remain in Albuquerque, and he joined Pinon Perinatal following fellowship.

When not working, Dr. Cox spends his time with his family, including his wife and two sons. Together, they are actively involved in the youth group with their church. They drag their boys around town for different sports throughout the year. He is a die-hard football fan, and will talk your ear off about his favorite teams if you let him. When not doing those things, he is cultivating a new hobby of the week.
